WW1 Family History Day at Bankfield Museum: 12 November 2016

Another great day. Despite our concerns that we may have exhausted potential takers, this event proved to be as successful as the previous two. It seems there are plenty of people with stories to tell or who are interested in further research into the wartime activities of their families. Two gratifying aspects of this event was the number of people who came as a result of following our weekly Courier series (over 50% of the participants) and some who had come by word of mouth from previous attendees. The interest value and variety of the contributions never ceases to amaze us. We have learnt from the two previous events and implemented improvements in the way we record stories so that we now gather as much of the  information brought to us as possible in order to create a legacy.
